Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) is a nonprofit organization that promotes responsible citizenship, accountability, and well‑being for individuals and families involved in or at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system. Since 1962, CSI has delivered supervision, treatment, and individualized services to help clients interact more effectively in their communities and become productive citizens. CSI is becoming a trauma‑informed organization by hiring staff with experience in trauma‑informed practices and supporting ongoing development in these practices.

The LISA Division of Community Solutions is seeking an energetic and dedicated Youth Advocate to work at the SAIL Program with young adults ages 18‑23. The Youth Advocate will work collaboratively with clients to help them navigate personal challenges, build life skills, and transition from interdependence to independence. This is an entry‑level position ideal for recent college graduates or individuals starting a new career path.

Wage: $18.75/hr with an additional $1.00 second‑shift differential and $2.00 third‑shift differential.
Schedules Available:
Friday‑Monday 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

• Reinforces strengths‑based, gender‑responsive, relational, trauma‑informed program philosophy.
• Supports each resident’s individual growth and development, teaching daily living skills.
• Collaborates with the team to ensure each resident’s goals, particularly daily living skill areas, are attended to.
• Encourages and motivates residents, celebrating successes.
• Reframes or redirects residents who are frustrated or struggling.
• Applies the TIER System to encourage pro‑social, healthy behavior.
• Holds residents accountable for unhealthy, unsafe behavior.
• Provides positive role modeling, including dress, emotional management, and behavior.
• Completes logs, reports, and data entry as required.
• Documents the program’s behavior motivation system (TIER).
• Contributes to a monthly recreational calendar; participates in appropriate activities.
• Ensures residents’ nutritional requirements are met in collaboration with the Agency Nurse and Supervisor.
• Coordinates volunteer service projects with LISA staff.
• Participates in all required meetings.
• Transports and supervises residents.
• Administers medication in accordance with DCF regulations.
• May be required to work additional shifts if coverage is unavailable.

• Associate’s degree plus 2 years’ experience working with youth, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least six months of experience; experience may be substituted for education.
• Willingness to learn and implement strengths‑based, relational, trauma‑informed, gender‑responsive, and culturally competent approaches.
• Desired: spoken and written Spanish proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license.
• COVID‑19 vaccination or a negative test prior to start.
