Position: Residential Aide - FT 40 hrs. Sunday - Thursday 11 pm - 7 am - North Colony

Residential Aide - FT 40 hrs. Sunday - Thursday 11 pm - 7 am - North Colony

Shift: 40 hours, Sunday – Thursday 11 pm – 7 am

Hourly Pay: $19.39 per hour (Weekend shift differential $20.39 per hour)

Program: North Colony

Location: Meriden, CT

Job Summary

Assists individuals with daily personal routines, provides prompts for daily living skills, skill‑building activities, and group participation. Provides companionship, monitors medical concerns, observes medication interactions, reports issues, ensures safe and sanitary living spaces. Leads group activities and outings, collaborates with nursing, management, and coworkers. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions
  • Establish rapport and maintain professional ethics and boundaries.
  • Enhance clients’ independent living skills through modeling, prompting, and hands‑on assistance.
  • Support activities of daily living: personal care/hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, food management/nutrition, budgeting, health and safety, leisure.
  • Co‑facilitate psycho educational groups and community/social recreation activities.
  • Provide transportation to/from appointments and educate clients on travel planning.
  • Inspect living spaces, assist with cleanliness, maintain housing standards.
  • Conduct ongoing safety checks; administer breathalyzer and urinalysis samples.
  • Document shift logs in electronic records.
  • Develop relationships with providers, families, and natural supports.
  • Respond to crisis situations and use non‑violent practices.
  • Supervise, monitor, and document medication self‑administration.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings, clinical rounds, All Treater meetings, and supervision sessions.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year of experience in a related healthcare field; licensed CNA accepted.
  • Prior experience working with people who have severe and persistent mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and/or addiction.
  • Knowledge of community support systems and resources preferred.
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s license with a clean driving record; reliable transportation required for scattered site positions.
  • CPR/First Aid certification; ongoing certification required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record keeping.
