Maintenance Mechanic

Westaff Hiring Maintenance Mechanic for Food Production Company in Meriden, CT!

Shift: 2nd, 3pm- finish M-F

Pay: $28-26/hr, based on experience

This role is vital in ensuring the operation and maintenance of manufacturing or production equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a background in production maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems, and have experience working in manufacturing / production environments.

Maintenance Technician Duties:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair food production and packaging equipment such as mixers, conveyors, fillers, ovens, pumps, and labeling machine.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and make timely repairs
• Adjust and calibrate equipment to meet production specifications and quality standards
• Respond quickly to production line breakdowns to minimize disruptions
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, OSHA, and HACCP guidelines during maintenance activities
• Conduct repairs and fabrication as needed for machinery and structural components
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks including install, repair, and replace equipment components as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal departments by promptly addressing maintenance requests.

• Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and teamwork.
• Proven experience in manufacturing or production maintenance
• Strong Mechanical knowledge with ability to read schematics/technical manuals
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance best practices within manufacturing environments.
