- Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable before, during, and after their appointment about their treatment and oral health.
- Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and intraoral photos.
- Prepare and sterilize treatment room and equipment.
- Provide chair‑side assistance to providers during treatment procedures.
- Document orthodontic care services by charting in patients’ records.
- Assist the orthodontist in assessing a patient’s teeth and implementing a plan to straighten them.
- Perform routine orthodontic duties, including cleaning and adjusting orthodontic gear.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient‑centric working environment.
Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook).
Qualifications- Six (6) or more months of practical experience as an orthodontic assistant.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Completion of a CODA‑accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
- Quick learner with problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Technical and troubleshooting skills for software applications used for charting, patient records, scheduling, etc.
- Proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying in arch wires, and taking consistent, accurate impressions.
- Desire and ability to learn new skills and be a team player.
- Commitment to punctuality and reporting to work on time.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire for professional growth.
- Organized with superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.
