Job DescriptionThis position can be based out of any AECOM office located in the West or Mid‑West regions of the United States. The role is hybrid, combining office and field work. The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry, specifically electrical engineering related to the design of utility‑scale transmission line development.
Responsibilities- Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
- Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 500 kV.
- Develop project schedules and define technical staff for projects and daily work.
- Mentor and instruct technical staff on engineering principles and governing electrical and safety codes.
- Teach technical staff the use of computer systems, software, tools, equipment, and company‑owned motor vehicles.
- Provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs prior to submissions.
- Collaborate with department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement policies and procedures that reflect best engineering practices.
- Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company‑wide initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and pursue opportunities with potential future clients.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering and 6 years of experience (or equivalent).
Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure.
Experience with PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD.
- 5+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
- Professional disposition and open‑mindedness in planning and executing projects.
- Ability to supervise a project team of engineers and engineering technicians while maintaining quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Advanced knowledge of overhead and underground transmission facilities and integration into daily activities.
- Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry‑relevant standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000 per year.
