- Review construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’s sprinkler system
- Use analytical thinking and problem solving to determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities
- Create detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Auto Sprink, Hydra
CAD, or similar programs - Create stock list for all material required throughout the project
- Perform hydraulic calculations
- Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work
- Maintain design and historical records for future use
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper handover of job information
- Ensure change orders/change estimates are completed in a timely manner
- Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintain positive cash flow
- Assist or lead during field check stages
- Ensure work complies with codes and permits
- Administer construction contracts, approve work quality and payment requests
- Report to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modifications
- NICET certification required. Either “In Training”, or NICET Level I, II, III, or IV certified
- Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD, Auto Sprink, Hydra
CAD, or other fire sprinkler layout software - Proven ability to perform work in a timely manner and meet deadlines
- Three years of construction industry experience with knowledge of Fire Protection
- Three years’ experience in commercial, industrial, and residential design
- Detail-oriented with ability to coordinate and work with others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check
- Must be willing to relocate to Boise, not already located in the area
