POS Engineering Specialist

The POS Engineering Specialist is responsible for the engineering, testing, certification, implementation, and lifecycle management of Jacksons' point-of-sale (POS) systems and associated retail technology platforms. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert supporting the company's retail payment ecosystem, fuel brand requirements, forecourt technologies, and integrated retail systems.

This position is critical in ensuring the successful certification, validation, deployment, and support of retail technology solutions across Jacksons store locations. This role works closely with product owners, fuel brands, vendors, support center teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable retail technology solutions.

The position is heavily focused on Verifone POS platforms, laboratory testing, fuel brand certifications, Digital Product Release (DPR) processes, Service Now-driven project execution, and full lifecycle testing from solution design through production deployment.

  66,Sinclair,andotherbranded/unbrandedfuelpartners.
• Coordinatecertificationtestingwithvendors,processors,andfuelbrandrepresentatives.
• Validatecompliancerequirementsforloyaltyprograms,payment processing,pricing promotions,andbrand-specific functionality.
• Trackcertificationreadinessandensuretimelycompletionoffuelbrandapprovalrequirements.

• Designandexecutecomprehensivetestingstrategiesforsoftwarereleases,hardware implementations,andtechnologyupgrades.
• Developandmaintaintestplans,testcases,testing scripts,andvalidationprocedures.
• Perform Unit Testing ,Integration Testing,Regression Testing,User Acceptance Testing (UAT),and Production Validation Testing .
• ValidateintegrationsbetweenPOSsystems,fuel dispensers,payment networks,loyalty providers,andthird-party platforms.
• Documenttestingoutcomesandcoordinatedefectresolutionefforts.

• Utilize Service Nowtomanageprojectactivities ,change requests,release records,defects,implementation plans,andtechnicaldocumentation.
• Support Jacksons'Digital Product Release (DPR) governance processes.
• Participateinreleaseapprovals,deployment planning,risk assessments,andproductionreadinessreviews.
• Ensureallimplementationsadheretochangemanagementandtechnologygovernancestandards.

• Configure,maintain,andenhancePOSEngineeringlabenvironments.
• ManagetestinghardwareincludingPOSterminals,payment devices,fuel controllers,dispensers,andintegratedretailtechnologies.
• Ensuretestingenvironmentsaccuratelyrepresentfieldproductionconfigurations.
• Maintaindocumentationoflabconfigurationsandtechnicalstandards.

• LeadpilotdeploymentsandproductionrolloutsofPOSandretailtechnologysolutions.
• Supportimplementationactivities,including after-hoursmaintenanceandreleasewindowswhennecessary.
• Partner with Support Centerteamstoensuresmoothoperationaltransitionsfollowingdeployments .
• Participateintroubleshootingandrootcauseanalysisactivitiesforcomplexretailtechnologyincidents.
• Collaboratewithinternal Information Technologyteamsandexternalvendors .
