Job DescriptionIn this role you will carry out functions related to continuous improvements to the PVC Production systems, procedures and processes that control the manufacturing of all extrusion and secondary operations systems. Drive improvements through all facets of the production process. When quality issues are identified, you will problem solve, identify solutions, implement changes, and audit process. You will work collaboratively with the team to reduce costs and improve output and efficiencies the production process and will also support capital projects.
This will include work flows, work instructions, material flows, process optimizations. You will be responsible for conducting analytical studies (including T&M studies) and making recommendations on improvements that can be made. The use of Kaizen methods and 6 Sigma data driven methods will be utilized to, study, review, improve and verify all improvement projects. Plant Minder data acquisition systems will be utilized for all tracking and data mining purposes.
YOUR ROLE:
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through associate development, involvement, and training
- Lead and facilitate process improvements and strategic capital projects utilizing DMAIC and DFSS approaches.
- Lead cross functional teams in utilizing value stream mapping to define current and future state
- Support the development and use of plant standards for 5S and visual management
- Support development of a TPM focused culture
Deliver continuous improvement related training material to both hourly and salary associates
- Coach teams to identify wastes and how to reduce waste using Lean tools and root cause analysis
- Lead improvements in material flow, material handling, and layout
- Collaborate with plant and corporate Continuous Improvement teams to share best practices
- Conduct procedural studies, recommendations, and improvements
- Establish work instructions for new or modified processes
- Communicate and be well-versed in plant operations, Safety, KPI’s, & Department Interdependencies.
- Control historical data records of all improvement projects
- Provide all data that verify improvement results on a regular and ad hoc basis
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing
- Minimum of 3 years of lean, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen or continuous improvement experience
- Knowledge and application of improvement tools including DMAIC, PDCA, SMED, VSM, 8D Problem Solving, and DFSS required
- Knowledge of TPM and its steps
- Must have passion and drive to continuously improve
- Proven & effective facilitation, leadership, mentoring, and training skills needed

- Experience working in a system that integrated TPM
