Position OverviewThe Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary and preventive care with an emphasis on quality over quantity. Unlike traditional high‑volume settings, our care model is built on spending meaningful time with patients, listening deeply, and ensuring concerns are fully addressed.
This role is ideal for a Nurse Practitioner who values relationship‑based medicine, enjoys patient education, and wants to practice in a forward‑thinking clinic that blends primary care, prevention, and academic leadership.
The NP will also have opportunities to participate in clinical education, technology integration, and collaborative learning initiatives through our academic center.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
- Spend unrushed, quality time with patients to understand symptoms, goals, lifestyle factors, and overall well‑being
- Listen actively and compassionately, ensuring patients feel validated and included in shared decision‑making
- Develop individualized treatment plans prioritizing preventive, lifestyle‑based, and evidence‑based care
- Provide patient education on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic disease management
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state licensure and clinic protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary providers to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the EMR
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Engage in ongoing learning opportunities related to advanced technologies and clinical innovation
- Support Legacy’s mission as a regional leader and academic training environment (teaching and mentorship opportunities available, but not required)
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Idaho
- Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Adult‑Gerontology (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (primary care or integrative medicine preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient‑first mindset
- Comfort practicing in a slower‑paced, relationship‑focused care model
- Interest in innovation, education, and advancing modern primary care delivery
- Longer appointment times (30–60 minutes) for meaningful, unrushed patient care
- Leadership role in a highly respected, growing practice in the Treasure Valley
