Summary/ObjectivesPerforms manual work at the journeyman level in cabinet installation, maintenance, and repair. Work involves the performance of skilled tasks by maintaining, repairing, and applying blocks, strips, trims, moldings and hardware to cabinets. Work is inspected for satisfactory compliance with instructions; routine repairs are usually made independently without supervision or review. The job may require working beyond normal duty hours due to emergencies or high-priority work.
Responsibilities- Work closely with Cabinet PCs to coordinate scheduling and prioritize daily site visits.
- Take necessary precautions to protect finished surfaces, appliances, and floor covering during site repairs.
- Perform other work as required to support general maintenance activity.
- Disconnect and remove obstacles such as appliances and light fixtures (excluding natural gas and propane appliances), taking necessary precautions.
- Perform minor cabinet installation as per manufacturer instructions, industry standards, and job specifications for the cabinets being installed.
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the cabinet trades.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans, sketches, visual instructions, and layouts.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentWorking directly with construction sites before, during, and after the completion of homes and multi‑family dwellings; working with owner‑occupied dwellings.
Physical DemandsStanding, walking, sitting, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching, and turning as required to operate equipment and interface with staff and customers. Must follow company policy regarding dress and maintain a professional appearance.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position. Days and hours are Monday through Saturday, as needed.
TravelLocal travel is expected.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- High school diploma.
Education and Experience
- Some college.
- One year of related experience.
