Pay Range: $22.62 - $33.94 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 (payout terms apply)
Schedule:
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role with a flexible schedule. Schedule may vary depending on the market.
This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Join Our Team as an Outside Plant Construction Technician I in Meridian, will play a hands-on role in building the infrastructure powering tomorrow s communication networks, installing fiber optic systems and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.

What You ll Do:
- Perform general construction tasks in various weather conditions while adhering to safety standards.
- Aid in transporting construction equipment to and from the worksite.
- Assist with and execute installation of aerial and buried fiber based on maps, staking sheets, and locate markings.
- Operate hand tools, cable locators, and testing equipment as needed.
- Install and set enclosures, including buried and aerial vaults, pedestals, and handholes.
- Climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures; use bucket trucks when necessary.
- Label and mark fiber optic and copper facilities accurately.
- Use dispatching applications and relevant tools for project coordination.
- Support fiber splicing, repairs, and outside plant maintenance activities.
- Restore landscapes to original condition upon project completion.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- 6+ months experience in customer service, electrical or utility construction, technical certification (or higher), current military service, or honorable discharge.
- Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver s license and be eligible for DOT requirements.
Other
Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a Class A CDL (current CDL preferred; in-house CDL certification available after hire).
- Physical requirements:
ability to climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures; kneel, dig, lift, and pull. - Upon hire, pass Safety Training and customer-specific requirements (which may include a background check).
- Horizontal directional drilling experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of telecommunication products and services.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Willingness to work overtime and various shifts as needed.
- Ability to operate vehicles with manual transmissions.
Training:
In-house program offers Class A CDL training, safety training, Pole Climbing and Bucket Truck training, and exposure to equipment such as Directional Drill Rigs, Mini Excavators, Trenchers, and Locators. Fiber optic training includes Fusion Splicing, Fault Detection, OTDRs, and other testing equipment. Training duration varies by team assignment (underground 3 weeks, aerial 1 additional week).
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Frequent physical activity; lifts up to 50 pounds regularly (occasional >100 pounds); outdoor and high-risk environments, including high voltage zones, trenches, and manholes; exposure to heavy equipment, fumes, vibration, extreme temperatures, and loud noise.
