CCI Prime Contractors is expanding its workforce and is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to join our growing federal construction business line. We are committed to fostering a work environment that offers long‑term stability and growth.

The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) oversees all safety and occupational health efforts on federal construction sites, ensuring full compliance with project safety standards and regulations. This role includes conducting site inspections, leading safety meetings, enforcing Accident Prevention Plans, and reviewing and developing Activity Hazard Analyses for various construction activities. The SSHO supports pre‑construction planning, participates in three‑phase inspections, manages subcontractor safety performance, and maintains accurate safety records, including daily reports and OSHA documentation.

They also track and resolve safety deficiencies, conduct incident investigations, and ensure all safety data, including hazardous materials information, is up to date and accessible on site.

This position is based in Meridian, MS. We provide paid lodging and per diem for employees working at this location.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, site safety orientation, activity‑specific training and enforcement.
  • Perform safety meetings.
  • Attend the pre‑construction conference, pre‑work meetings including three‑phase inspection meetings.
  • Develop and review preconstruction safety submittals.
  • Review safety submittals for compliance.
  • Implement and enforce accepted Accident Prevention Plans (APP).
  • Review, develop, and enforce subcontractor activity‑specific Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
  • Monitor and manage sub‑contractor safety and health compliance.
  • Verify safety qualification.
  • Conduct continuous safety and health inspections, maintain a written log including date of inspection, area/operation inspected, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections.
  • Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports.
  • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system monitoring outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
  • Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractor’s daily quality control report in RMS and Procore.
  • Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and daily production reports for prime and sub‑contractors.
  • Maintain safety reference material on the job site.
  • Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material safety data sheets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of federal construction experience with NAVFAC, USACE, or Coast Guard.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive construction industry experience in supervising/managing general construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls).
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances as required by the task order.
  • OSHA 30‑hour certification.
  • Proficiency with EM385‑1‑1.
  • Experience with Procore and RMS.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and PDF.
  • As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results.
Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening (post‑accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
