Position: Anesthesiologist - PRN (Baptist Anderson)

Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Serve as Life Linc’s On-Site Anesthesiologist for a wide range of duties including administrative duties and clinical duties. This is a PRN position only.

About the Facility: Baptist Anderson located in Meridian, Mississippi offers a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of its patients. These services include mother/baby care, breast care, cancer treatment, digestive health services, cardiac care, ICU/CCU care, interventional radiology, orthopedics, pediatrics, sports medicine, weight loss surgery, diagnostic imaging, dialysis, emergency and trauma care, infusion, laboratory services, nutrition support, surgery and respiratory therapy.

Schedule: Monday – Friday (No call, no nights, no weekends)

Case Mix: OB, endoscopy, cath lab, Ped tonsils and dental, OB, Pain, Centralized Arterial lines, Epidurals, Spinals, Nerve blocks; no heads

Call Requirements: As needed

Malpractice Professional liability will be covered by Life Linc.

Responsibilities

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include any and/or all of the following:

CLINICAL DUTIES

  • Ensure the availability of adequate anesthesia staffing to provide clinical, medical, and administrative leadership support throughout the organization.
  • Administer anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures.
  • Inform students and staff of types and methods of anesthesia administration, signs of complications, and emergency methods to counteract reactions.
  • Provide medical care and consultation in many settings, prescribing medication and treatment.
  • Provides clinical support and patient care to assist the anesthesia team as applicable.
  • Maintain current policies and procedures set forth by Life Linc and propose new and efficient policies when applicable.
  • Perform clinical reviews and audits on all clinical services provided by other practitioners employed by Life Linc as applicable.
  • Responsible for training and oversight of all clinical staff and personnel as applicable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, patients, patient s family and other employees of organization.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

HIPAA

  • Ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and hospital policy and procedure regarding confidentiality.
  • Complies with all information security practices.
  • Has knowledge of and adheres to all compliance regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Takes annual HIPAA compliance exam.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience equivalent to:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine in anesthesia with a current license in good standing to practice in the state in which you are located.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • ACLS/BLS/PALS Certification
  • Comfortable practicing in a care team model
