LPN - Ambulatory Care Clinic
Ochsner Health is inviting applications for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position in our Ambulatory Care Clinic. The role involves direct patient care, including IV therapy, within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Use the nursing process in delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning and evaluation.
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all patients, guests, family members and co‑workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
- Adapt to rapid change positively throughout the day as unit and department needs change.
- Manage personal professional development and maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- IV Therapy Credentials preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; self‑directed and demonstrates good judgment.
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
Heavy work may require lifting 50–100 pounds occasionally or 25–50 pounds frequently. Duties include exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential toxic substances. Reasonable accommodations are available to qualified individuals with disabilities.
