Position Summary

This field‑based, business‑development, hands‑on clinical sales position requires a candidate with the drive and skill to be a patient advocate and positive representative of Vie Med. The role involves identifying and initiating one‑on‑one dialogue with new referral sources, maintaining positive relationships with existing sources, and designing sales strategies to grow the business within the assigned territory. 80%+ of the time will be spent in the field networking, building relationships, and educating referral sources—such as pulmonologists, hospitalists, critical care physicians, case managers, and social workers—about the benefits of Vie Med’s disease management program for patients with chronic respiratory failure.

Sales Duties and Responsibilities
  • Market Vie Med’s disease management program to potential and existing referral sources.
  • Develop sales territory action plans and call strategies to maintain ongoing business and grow new market potential within the assigned territory.
  • Coordinate and provide educational presentations and in‑services for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain account activity, sales documentation, reports, and territory management.
  • Partner with clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market home respiratory therapy services to all referral sources.
  • Work with office staff to ensure accurate billing and documentation, satisfying third‑party payor guidelines.
  • Provide availability for patient contact and respond to patient needs.
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas and performance targets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Resourceful problem solver thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Established relationships with pulmonary, critical care, and hospitalist physicians in the territory (required).
  • Provide three informal letters of recommendation from a pulmonologist (required).
  • Current, valid, active state driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Sales Experience
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience in a healthcare setting, working with physicians, nursing management, discharge planners, case managers, and social workers.
  • Two or more years of full‑life‑cycle healthcare sales experience, including lead generation, referral education, persistent follow‑up, and issue resolution.
  • Two or more years as a Clinical Liaison, preferably in LTACH care.
  • Experience with LTACH marketing and/or clinical liaison preferred.
  • Formal sales training preferred.
Preferred Licensure & Education
  • Respiratory Therapist or Nurse with adult critical care experience, business development/physician marketing experience or a proven sales record in the home medical equipment market.
  • Clinical licensure preferred (RT, RRT, CRT, RCP, RN, LPN).
Work Environment
  • Field‑based sales role calling on existing and potential referral sources such as pulmonologists, hospitalists, critical care physicians, hospitals, case managers, and social workers.
