Rental Counter/Inside Sales Associate – Puckett Rents (Meridian, MS)

We are seeking a dynamic and customer‑focused Rental Counter/Inside Sales Associate at our Meridian location. This role offers excellent pay, solid benefits, scheduled overtime, and a legendary family culture.

• Greet and respond to all customer inquiries (walk‑in and telephone) professionally, engaging them to determine and fulfill their needs promptly.
• Sell all products and services the company offers, maintaining knowledge of pricing, procedures, trends, and the capabilities of our rental equipment fleet.
• Prepare and process rental quotes, reservations, contracts, and write quotes, shipping orders and invoices according to company policies and customer service standards.
• Facilitate and expedite rental and/or sales transactions, staying aware of available equipment inventory and collaborating with repair shop and drivers to ensure timely deliveries and pick‑ups.
• Support safe and prompt delivery/pickup of equipment, staying current on commercial driver safety and regulatory compliance standards.
• Participate in frequent communication with the sales counter, outside sales team, and service department, logging all incoming calls and tracking lost sales opportunities.
• Resolve customer credit application issues, obtain purchase order numbers, secure credit card information, and research disputes for credit memos.
• Maintain showroom, equipment displays, counters, signs, and personal work areas clean, well‑stocked, and orderly, with accurate price tags.
• Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of inside sales experience in a high‑volume retail or rental sales environment; experience with construction or allied equipment is helpful.
• Professional, upbeat, persuasive communication style that is assertive and persistent without being overly aggressive.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, detail oriented, and high accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and management systems (Rental Man, ).
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced retail service environment.
• Availability for a standard five‑day work schedule with rotational weekend and daily overtime as needed.
