Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is seeking a Part‑time Instructional Assistant to support our CDL faculty in the Trucking Driving (Class

A) and Straight Truck (Class

B) programs at the Public Safety Center of Excellence in Merrill, Wisconsin. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, up to 25 hours per week. Hours may change based on workload.

Part‑time Instructional Assistants assist faculty with the instruction of students in the CDL program, including lab sessions and on‑the‑track instruction.

• Provide direct support to faculty during student training.
• Prepare tractors, trailers, and driving courses for student activities.
• Lead formative lab instruction when faculty are unavailable.
• Assist students with driving techniques and safety discussions.
• Ensure students operate vehicles safely and issue driving procedures.
• Participate in in‑service training and industrial workshops.
• Assist with procurement, setup, and maintenance of instructional materials and vehicles.
• Proctor tests, quizzes, and performance assessments.
• Monitor attendance, vehicle usage, and documentation of maintenance.
• Coordinate activities of work‑study students as directed.
• Maintain proficiency in truck driving to support the program.
