Aspirus Merrill Hospital in Merrill, WI is seeking a MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST or SCIENTIST to join our LAB team!
Join our Laboratory team and help deliver high-quality diagnostic testing that supports exceptional patient care. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), you will perform complex chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological, and microscopic procedures. This role requires critical thinking, technical accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a high-complexity CLIA-certified lab.
Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic testing and interpret results across multiple disciplines
- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with laboratory and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support timely patient diagnosis and care decisions
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning
1.0 FTE/80 hours every two weeks working Monday-Thursday, 9pm-7am
Experience & Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required
- Previous lab experience preferred but not required
- Must possess or obtain within 12 months of hire one of the following certifications: MT-ASCP, MLS-ASCP, or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (can be obtained upon hire)
- Must meet CLIA ’88 requirements for high-complexity testing
- Annual competencies required per Aspirus and applicable regulations
