The Diocese of Gary has an excellent career opportunity for a Parish Financial Liaison for the Finance Office.
The Parish Financial Liaison functions as a diocesan liaison to the parishes, schools and other institutions for accounting guidance and financial reporting. This position is responsible for the coordination of financial audits of the Parishes and Schools, which includes the examination/audit of financial records, review of internal controls, and review of the technology component of the Parish/School to identify weaknesses and strengths.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting and experience in Catholic Church accounting at the Parish/School level is preferred, as well as experience and education with computer hardware and software. Preferred qualifications include excellent communication, writing and organizational skills, willingness to travel locally, knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Quick Books and ADP Workforce Now for payroll and benefit reporting. Specific experience in a complex, nonprofit, multi-unit organization with a service orientation is preferred.
