Senior Electrical Design Engineer

JOB TITLE:
Sr. Electrical Engineer/Project Manager

Merrillville, IN

The ideal candidate should have significant experience in design work (excluding field work). Since the business focuses on design, the primary responsibility will involve creating electrical designs and drawings. The key client for this role operates in the heavy/steel industry. This position offers the opportunity to engage in diverse projects, particularly those involving heavy infrastructure, including municipality projects, providing a broad spectrum of exposure.

• Location: On-site 5 days/week in Merrillville, IN
• Industry: Heavy Industry, Metals, Chemical/Petrochemical or Environmental
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor electrical staff
  • Coordinate with other disciplines
  • Conduct field investigations
  • Manage multiple projects
  • Work on a variety of project types
  • Meet with clients and prepare proposals
  • Oversee project installation and budget
  • Ensure safety and compliance with company policies

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in the industrial sector
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
• Working knowledge of NEC, IEC, ISA & IEEE design standards
• AutoCAD and/or Revit skills preferred
• Specification writing skills required
• Management experience of an electrical engineering group preferred
• Arc-flash study experience a plus
• Ability to safely traverse construction sites
