Speech-Language Pathologist
Part‑time and PRN. Immediate openings for a Part‑Time Speech‑Language Pathologist.
Responsibilities- Screen all residents, evaluate and treat those who could benefit from intervention.
- Comply with Minimum Data Set (MDS) procedures and effective care planning; document progress toward objectives; communicate resident status and needs to residents, families, staff, and other professionals as appropriate.
- Serve as a consultant to therapy and facility staff as appropriate.
- Build a strong rehabilitation practice by establishing and maintaining courteous and helpful interaction patterns with staff, residents, and families; integrate therapy’s role into the facility and interdisciplinary treatment team; contribute to case management, administrative staff/department head, and family conference activities/communications; maintain good working relationships with other healthcare professionals and community colleagues.
- Make appropriate referrals to other members of the rehabilitation team, develop and implement new programs/techniques to enhance rehabilitation services; adhere to facility policies related to environment safety, orderliness, risk management, infection prevention, emergency situations, and the Residents’ Bill of Rights.
- Understand managed care, prospective payment system (PPS) billing, and treatment guidelines.
- Embrace the team concept and interdisciplinary care.
- Maintain confidentiality of facility and resident information.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Current American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certificate of clinical competency in speech language pathology or current eligibility for certification following ASHA and facility guidelines for the clinical fellowship year experience.
Experience: Minimum of five years clinical experience preferred, including at least one year in patient care and one year of successful clinical management.
