Overview
This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient workflow of the daily operations of Diagnostic Radiology for both inpatient and outpatient procedures within the Radiology Department. This includes providing patients with diagnostic radiologic testing, as well as assuring specials are scheduled accordingly and supplies are available.
ResponsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (
* Essential Functions)
Positions the patient in the x-ray equipment for each view by using the proper technique (MA, time, KVP) in order to reduce radiation exposure, while using proper shielding, collimation and immobilization devices as indicated for each age specific group.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated clinical competency in the field of radiology.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills required, and strong interpersonal skills a must.
- A high degree of independent action and exercise of judgment is a must, along with a creative ability.
- Ability to work under required deadlines and schedules while being flexible to handle special requests and projects.
- Ability to multi-task under stressful situations, and ability to professionally handle stressful situations.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care.
- Ability to direct the work of others.
- Must be detailed oriented.
EDUCATION
All post high school education must have been obtained from a recognized College or University. Additional education may be substituted for experience requirements should the substitution not conflict with State or Board certification/license requirements.
- Associates Degree Radiology Required
EXPERIENCE
- 4 years Imaging Related experience Preferred
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Active IN Radiologic Technologist License Required
- ARRT (R) Radiology Registration through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
- Basic Life Support Certification Required
