Plant Sanitation Technician – 3rd Shift

Overview: The Plant Sanitation Technician is essential to the manufacturing process. Through training and development, you will operate, clean, and maintain automated production machinery, ensuring the overall cleanliness of production areas. This role supports production teams in creating and maintaining a sanitary GMP manufacturing environment, working with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to uphold food safety and sanitation practices at the highest plantwide standards.

- Ensure the cleanliness of the manufacturing environment.
- Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety standards.
- Maintain strict compliance with PPE for extended periods.
- Understand use and proper titrations of approved chemicals for sanitation.
- Sanitize equipment and utensils using water pressure hose and chemicals.
- Perform and document sanitation duties as outlined by Master Sanitation checklists.
- Collaborate with Sanitation Supervisors, Leads, Operations, Quality Control, and Maintenance on cleaning procedures and projects.
- Operate Power Scrubbers and PIT equipment (Pallet Jack, Fork Truck, Scissor Lifts, etc.).
- Assist with recycling disposal program and general waste management.
- Safely operate tray washing machine.
- Respond to radio calls for cleanup assistance.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Strong working relationship with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Production Staff.
- Self-directed with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Team player with time management and assertiveness.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills.
- Capacity to stand for 8–12 hours per day with breaks.
- Physically able to lift, carry, bend, push, pull, twist frequently.
- Able to walk long distances and use stairs for 8 hours.
- Operate floor and parts cleaning equipment.
- Work at heights up to 30 feet.
- Operate forklift, electric pallet jack, and scissor lift.
- Handle industrial cleaning chemicals for extended periods.
- Perform custodial duties when assigned.
- Swim and mop large areas by hand.
- Wear PPE attire when handling chemicals.
- Endure wetness from washing machinery for extended periods.
- Preferred experience in food manufacturing, kitchen, manufacturing, or medical environment sanitation.
- Speak, read, and write in English.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
