Overview
Delivers direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, cardiology, and radiology procedures in the catheterization laboratory. Responsibilities include pre-, intra-, and post-procedural patient care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, including patient, family, and significant other education.
ResponsibilitiesPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of hemodynamic pressure recording/interpretation, sterile technique, and specialized procedures equipment.
- Proficient computer skills for electronic documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to perform effectively in crisis situations.
- Ability to work independently in patient care and equipment management.
- Team participation skills; PALs certification preferred.
Education:
- Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of nursing experience in a cardiac-related setting on a telemetry unit, or 2 years in Critical Care or Emergency Department.
- 2 years in Healthcare/Medical Critical Care.
- 2 years in Emergency Services/Trauma.
Certifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.
Adheres to personnel policies, maintains confidentiality per HIPAA, and complies with healthcare regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of security, confidentiality, and ethical practices.
