Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (
* Essential Functions):

Administer medications within the scope of practice and hospital policies.

Assess, evaluate, interpret, and document patients' physical and mental status.

Establish rapport with patients and significant others to understand care requirements and resolve patient issues through multidisciplinary teams.

Promote patient independence by setting care goals, teaching self-care skills, and answering questions.

Ensure quality of care by adhering to standards, measuring outcomes, and making necessary adjustments.

Maintain a safe, clean environment by following procedures and protecting patients and staff.

Protect patient confidentiality and ensure continuity by documenting actions and needs in the electronic medical record.

Attend educational workshops, review publications, and participate in professional societies to maintain knowledge.

Complete annual competency and regulatory education.

Contribute to team efforts, measured by Press Ganey/HCAPS, AIDET, and other care models.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Thorough knowledge of medical equipment.
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Ability to administer medications per policies.
Follow the National Patient Safety Goals.
Interpret lab and diagnostic results related to patient status.
Communicate effectively using SBAR.
Multitasking ability.
Courteous, compassionate, and positive attitude.
Skills include bedside manner, infection control, nursing skills, physiological knowledge, medication administration, teamwork, listening, verbal communication, and health promotion.
ED/ICU: ACLS certification;
Med Surg areas: BLS certification;
College Diploma in Nursing required.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
College Diploma in Nursing required.
Minimum 3 years RN experience.
Licensed Registered Nurse.
Certified in CPR.
