Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system; handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies, check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate actions.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions regarding products sold.
• Maintain knowledge of products sold, respond to questions, and make suggestions.
• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering, shipping, and pricing to management.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages; work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents.
• Follow all laws and company policies.
• Physical demands include standing, lifting (average 50 lbs.), pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and repetitive motions.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Basic math knowledge.
• Ability to complete cashier training.
• Ability to memorize produce and sale items.
• Effective communication and reading skills.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience.
• Retail experience.
