Principal, Design Engineering – Signal Integrity
Celestica is seeking a highly motivated and self‑driven Signal Integrity Engineer to help design and build market‑leading Hardware Platform Solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Define and develop next‑generation technologies for networking, server and storage products.
- Provide innovative solutions to unusually complex and sensitive problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
- Serve as technical consultant and technical leader for the team.
- Engage with customers and suppliers on product roadmaps and support.
- Communicate progress toward project and program goals.
- Lead, motivate and direct a workgroup.
- Maintain proficiency in hardware systems environments and be detail oriented.
- Organize cross‑functional activities and keep a strong focus on customers.
Knowledge, Skills &
Competencies:
- PCB design fundamentals (single‑ended and differential signals)
- Signal loss, impedance control, crosstalk (near‑end and far‑end)
- Experience with single‑ended and differential signaling up to 50 Gbps
- Working with component models (touchstone files) and cascading models for system simulation
- Simulation of digital interfaces (FPGA‑to‑DRAM, SERDES)
- Simulation of analog paths through PCB, connector and cable (driver to DUT)
- Proficiency with 2D/3D simulation tools (ADS, ANSYS HFSS, Sigrity)
- Electrical length calculations for signal matching
- Interpretation of signals in frequency (S‑parameter) and time domain; data‑eye diagrams up to 50 Gbps (NRZ, PAM4)
- Proficient with Allegro or similar layout tool and schematics
- PCB stack‑up design; familiarity with fabrication limitations and cost trade‑offs
- High‑frequency board material experience
- Measuring signal performance in lab (TDR, VNA); developing test fixtures for measurements
- Expert in cost vs. performance trade‑offs for signal paths
- Experience with flex circuit design for high‑speed signaling

Experience:
12+ years in high‑speed signal delivery design and evaluation, including PCB and off‑board interfaces.
Typical
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
Master’s preferred.
Salary: $171,000 – $268,000 USD/year (estimate; may vary).
