Cloud security Engineer

Kubernetes plays a critical role in container management by orchestrating the deployment, scaling, and operation of containerized applications. It ensures infrastructure scalability by automating resource allocation, load balancing, and failover processes, enabling the platform to handle varying workloads efficiently and maintain high availability.

The automation efforts aim to ensure robust and scalable infrastructure by supporting cloud engineering and CI/CD pipeline automation.

This may involve modifying existing pipelines to align with the VMWare re-platforming and OLVM migration requirements, as well as developing new pipelines to address specific needs of the project.

Automation tools and scripting

• Engineers are expected to have strong expertise in Jenkins, Python, Groovy, and shell scripting to support automation tasks, including building, deploying, and maintaining pipelines.
• They may work with both existing automation scripts and create new ones as needed to ensure scalable and robust infrastructure.

Platform maintenance responsibilities

• Engineers will be responsible for maintaining system stability, optimizing performance, and ensuring uptime of the platform infrastructure post-migration. This includes tasks such as monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, applying patches, and ensuring the scalability of the infrastructure.
• Performance metrics to evaluate success may include system availability (uptime percentage), CI/CD pipeline efficiency (deployment speed and success rate), and incident resolution times (mean time to recovery).

Compliance and security requirements

• Engineers must ensure adherence to standard security practices, including secure coding, access control, and data protection measures, while working on the migration and maintenance phases.
• Compliance with relevant regulatory standards, such as those governing cloud infrastructure and data handling, is expected to maintain the integrity and security of the platform.

Container management tools

• Kubernetes and Rancher are likely to be key tools for container management in this project, given their inclusion in the required skillset.
• These tools may continue to play a central role after the migration, as they align with the project's focus on scalable infrastructure and container management platforms.

Collaboration with other teams

• The engineers will likely collaborate with other teams or stakeholders to ensure alignment on cloud engineering efforts, CI/CD pipeline automation, and platform maintenance.
