Responsibilities
  • Enhance Launch Operations through all aspects of crane operations.
  • Review and execute lift plans for critical lifting operations utilizing mobile and overhead cranes.
  • Inspect and use proper rigging for critical crane lifts and execute standard lift activities daily.
  • Maintain Launch Operations mobile cranes and operator training records.
  • Support Test and Flight Operations Managers/Engineers as needed, following verbal directions or written procedures.
  • Interface with stakeholders to schedule and prioritize lifting operations based on organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and communicate mobile crane requests and invoicing with Crane Vendors.
  • Support safe execution of all lifting operations.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience as a crane operator, preferably with lattice and lock‑and‑pin booms.
  • 5+ years in the aerospace industry.
  • Certifications:

    NCCCO, TSS, TLL.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry rigging standards (ASME, OSHA, SPFCMAN 91‑710) and ability to calculate sling angles and tensions.
  • Proficiency in selecting proper rigging capacities and pick points.
  • Class A CDL with a good driving record.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and follow critical lift plans.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience training new crane operators on rigging practices and crane usage.
  • Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office).
  • High hiring standards when evaluating and hiring talent.
  • Customer‑focused with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Intense curiosity about optimizing business details.
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and the ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.
  • Availability to work off‑shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Broad/deep Crane Operations planning skill set.
  • Certified Lift Director.
  • Certified Critical Lift Operator.
  • Advanced Rigging – Rigger 2 NCCCO.
  • Certified Signal Person.
  • Aerospace background with experience handling high‑value components.
  • Mobile Harbor Crane experience.
  • Offshore and knuckle boom crane experience.
  • Experience in multi‑drum operations, pile driving, and auger drilling.

  • Required for drivers operating Commercial Motor Vehicles with GVW/ GVWR ≥ 10,001 lbs or transporting hazardous materials: federal motor carrier safety regulations apply (Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection, CDL requirements).
  • Required for certain profiles:
    Ability to obtain/maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, including pre‑employment and random drug testing and DOT physical.
