SLD FPGA Verification Engineer III - Lunar Permanence

Blue Origin invites you to join our Lunar Permanence business unit to verify FPGA-based solutions for the Human Landing System (HLS). This role requires technical expertise in UVM, formal methods, and high‑reliability avionics.

• Perform requirements‑based verification of FPGAs using Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
• Create comprehensive verification and validation plans encompassing functional and system‑level verification.
• Develop IP/subsystem/system‑level test benches and test cases to achieve required coverage goals.
• Document plans, procedures, and coverage reports to support design certification to a high Design Assurance Level.
• Implement directed and random test cases and manage coverage collection.

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience verifying FPGAs or ASICs.
• In‑depth experience with RTL simulation tools (Siemens Questa Sim, Model Sim, or equivalent).
• Expertise in System Verilog and UVM, including testbench environment and verification component development.
• Solid knowledge of coverage models, assertions, and constrained‑random verification.
• Experience with register abstraction layers and functional coverage reporting.
• Strong debugging skills to isolate issues between RTL design and testbench.
• Ability to develop detailed test plans, run regressions, and report progress to program leadership.

• Familiarity with AXI protocols, PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I2C interfaces.
• Experience debugging FPGA/ASIC hardware and assisting with HW/SW integration.
• Knowledge of GITLab CI/CD and regression infrastructure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL/Shell for automation.
• Experience with safety‑critical software standards (DO‑254, NPR 7150.2, or equivalent).
