Summary
The Engineering Technician is responsible for driving problem solving and corrective actions to manufacturing issues related to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. The technician is also responsible for gathering and analyzing data to lead sustaining engineering and continuous improvement initiatives through the organization. This will include leading and supporting new model integration, model change activities, sustaining engineering ECNs, Kaizen events, A3s, DMAIC and other continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities- Create and document Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Design, model, revise designs with CAD (e.g., Solid Works).
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to eliminate production issues.
- Create and document Standard Work and Work Instructions.
- Perform time studies to resolve workflow problems.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to eliminate production waste.
- Collect and analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with different departments to resolve production issues.
- Lead, facilitate, and support Kaizen and other Lean Six Sigma (LSS) events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment required.
- 2-3 years of boat manufacturing preferred (lamination and/or assembly).
- Understanding of and experience with LSS and problem-solving tools.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- CAD experience (Solid Works preferred).
- Strong analytical skills; detail oriented; self-starter.
- Able to work independently with little supervision and manage multiple projects.
- Effective communication with all functional areas in the facility.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $22.35 to $26.75 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
