Manufacturing Planner – All Levels
Join Blue Origin to help design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing and production processes for aerospace products. Part of the Operations team (Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance), this role supports manufacturing across all Blue Origin facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Translate engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by creating manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
- Train and support manufacturing engineers in the use of system tools to execute work orders, including disposition of nonconformances, redlining work orders, revising BOM, BOM reconciliation, and GSE/Tooling maintenance and procurement.
- Provide shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor.
- Provide oversight and guidance for the creation and revision of manufacturing plans to ensure required information and structure for MRP systems.
- Maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to reduce build time and improve safety and quality.
The Manufacturing Planner plays a pivotal role in advancing the efficiency and reliability of aerospace components, working on the premier launch vehicle, New Glenn. The role requires dedication to safe and repeatable spaceflight and collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar; level ranges: 0‑3 years Level I Engineer, 3+ years Level II Engineer, 5+ years Level III Engineer, 8+ years Sr Level Engineer.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes and procedures, including planning systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands‐on experience with building flight hardware.
- Associate degree or trade school in a related discipline.
- Six Sigma Black Belt & lean manufacturing certification.
- Experience with design, development, or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites.
- Proficiency with CAD software (Creo or CATIA V5).
- Customer‐focused with a proven track record of working cooperatively across large geographic distances.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
