At Teacher Active, we’re working closely with a network of primary schools across South Wales. We’re currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support pupils with challenging behaviour in schools around the Merthyr Tydfil area. We are looking for candidates that are trauma informed and will be able to work with children presenting challenging behaviour. This may involve 1:1 work with individual pupils, supporting children with a range of needs to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

This is where you as a skilled Teaching Assistant come in! For the right person this role will result in a full-time long-term placement so availability for full-time work would be ideal!

* What we’re looking for from our Teaching Assistant:

A genuine passion for helping children thrive

Experience supporting children with ALN – either 1:1 or in small groups

A positive, can-do attitude

Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches is a real advantage

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff

Whether you’re guiding pupils through one-to-one support or leading small group sessions, your work will play a vital role in helping ALN pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged – and we’ll support you every step of the way.
