Cover supervisor

Teacher Active is working closely with several welcoming and supportive Secondary Schools across Merthyr Tydfil, and we’re looking for enthusiastic people to join us as Cover Supervisors.

This role is perfect if you enjoy working with young people, want flexible work, or are thinking about a future career in teaching. And if you can speak Welsh confidently, you’ll be a huge asset to the schools we support.

What the job involves

You won’t need to plan lessons — you’ll simply step into classrooms when teachers are away, help keep things running smoothly, and encourage pupils to stay engaged and on task. Your positive presence can make a massive difference to their day.

What we’re looking for

• Someone who speaks Welsh fluently and enjoys using it

• CACHE Level 2/3 or 6+ months experience working with young people

• Confidence managing a classroom of pupils aged 11–16+

• A calm, friendly and adaptable approach

• Someone happy to work across different subjects and year groups
