Are you looking to make a difference as a Supply Teaching Assistant in Schools in Merthyr Tydfil? We have a fantastic opportunity to work within a few schools that are focused on growing their team. The schools are located in the Merthyr Tydfil area and are looking for teaching assistants to work with ALN children across the school. Due to the needs of these pupils, previous experience working with Autism or additional learning needs is preferred, but not essential.
This is for full‑time and part‑time roles, working between Monday to Friday and possibly on a long‑term basis for the right candidate. As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, we will give you the opportunity to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.

Between Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
What you'll be doing as a Teaching Assistant
- Supporting and supervising activities within the classroom
- Helping learners stay on task and understand lessons
- Working in partnership with other members of staff
- Working with learners in small groups or one‑to‑one with learners with additional needs
- Supporting the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
- Assisting learners at break time with their lunch where needed
- Engaging learners in classroom and out‑of‑classroom activities
- Working in accordance with the school’s behaviour‑management policies
- Experience working or volunteering with children with SEN
- A proactive work ethic
- A good understanding of special educational needs
- The ability to provide a range of support to pupils
- A patient and understanding attitude
- The ability to work as part of a team
The start time is 8:30 am and you will finish at 3:30 pm, with 30 minutes for lunch.
