Overview

We are seeking dedicated Secondary School Newly Qualified Teachers to work across a variety of secondary schools within the Merthyr Tydfil region. All subject specialisms are welcome, including core academic areas and special educational needs. These roles offer flexibility for both full-time and part-time working arrangements, with support provided throughout your NQT year and induction process by an approved mentor from a recognised Welsh Government Framework Supplier.

Key Responsibilities

As a Secondary School Newly Qualified Teacher, your primary duties will include leading classroom activities for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 learners, preparing and delivering lessons aligned with the national curriculum, and following the school's behaviour management policies. You will also be responsible for planning schemes of work where needed, engaging students in a positive learning environment, and supporting inclusive practices within the classroom.

Candidate

Requirements

To succeed as a Secondary School Newly Qualified Teacher, candidates should possess at least one year of relevant teaching experience, although exceptions can be made for NQTs. Candidates must hold Qualified Teacher Status or an overseas equivalent, and be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC). Verification of recent references covering the last two years, a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one, and the right to work in the UK are essential.
