Position: Teaching Assistant Level 2 (1:1 Support)

Salary: £24,796 to £25,583 (pro rata, subject to term time adjustment). Actual Salary:
Grade 3 SCP (3 - 5 £ 15,992.50 to £16,427.87.

Contract: 27.5 hours, 39 weeks, Temporary to 31st August 2027

The Governing body of Llangiwg Primary School seeks to appoint a suitably qualified, caring and committed 1:1 Level 2 teaching assistant. Llangiwg Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive school, committed to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where all children can thrive and achieve their full potential.

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (1:1) to work within our Early Years setting. The successful candidate will provide individualised support for a pupil with additional learning needs, helping to ensure they are fully included in school life and able to access the curriculum.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Early Years, tailored to meet their specific learning, emotional and developmental needs.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Promote the pupil's independence, wellbeing and social development.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, ALNCo, external professionals and parents/carers.

Desired qualifications and attributes:

  • Have experience of working with young children, ideally within an Early Years setting.
  • Be patient, caring and able to build strong, positive relationships.
  • Have an understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN).
  • Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork and a proactive approach.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Additional requirements:

  • An enhanced DBS check.
  • Satisfactory references.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council.
  • Compliance with safeguarding procedures.

Note: The salary stated will be subject to a term time only adjustment for the commencement of employment outside of the start date of 1st September.
