We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate strong practical and theoretical knowledge in Maths & English and deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practices. You will work with a dedicated and friendly team to support learners in achieving positive outcomes and progressing into successful careers.
There is significant potential for further development and expansion across this curriculum area, and you will play a key role in helping to shape the future of our Skills Access & Community offer and EPNE Training overall provision.
You will plan, promote, deliver, monitor and evaluate your teaching while supporting learners’ academic and personal progress. You will also build positive relationships with employers and industry partners to ensure students receive an outstanding experience.
Role Responsibilities- Plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate high-quality teaching, learning and assessment from Entry to Level 2 Maths & English Functional Skills.
- Take responsibility for the retention, progress and achievement of learners within your programme(s).
- Contribute to curriculum planning, internal and external quality assurance processes, and programme performance reviews.
- Provide high-quality academic and pastoral support, including tracking, monitoring and targeted intervention where required.
What Modules Will You Teach?
Class Size
- Typical class size: 10 – 15 learners
- This allows for hands‑on support, practical supervision, and good learner engagement.
- The role is 37 hours per week, including: 24 hours of teaching per week
These are timetabled lessons, generally split across:
- Classroom theory sessions
- Workshop-based practical sessions
- Tutorials and Global Skills
If you do not already hold a teaching qualification:
How it works- The qualification is completed within the first 2 years.
- Usually delivered one evening per week (3 hours).
- Coursework completed alongside the job.
