Teaching Assistant for Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)

Full Time (Merthyr CF48)

£93 PER DAY

At this PRU in the Merthyr area, you’ll be part of a team that delivers personalised learning and emotional support to help students re-engage with their education and build brighter futures.

About the Role:

We are recruiting a compassionate, resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support primary children who face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support with complex needs that are unable to attend school in a mainstream setting
Support behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques
Assist with personalised learning plans and promote engagement
Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment
Who can apply?

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience in working with individuals in SEN, youth work, care or mental health
Be passionate and determined to make a difference in support children’s needs
Requirements:

Teaching Personnel provide guidance and support for obtaining the following:

Education Workforce (EWC) Registration
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
References covering two years of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
