HSEQ Manager

Candour Talent are recruiting a HSEQ Manager for their client based in Merthyr Tydfil.

Our manufacturing client is looking for a HSEQ Manager to join their growing team. This is an exciting and challenging role that would suit an experienced HSEQ professional with team leadership skills and a strong understanding of environmental compliance.

The Role:

* Write, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise safety and environmental performance, as well as driving process innovation and efficiency gains

* Promote a proactive safety culture - encourage and implement new ideas and technologies to enhance safety measures

* Design and deliver effective health, safety, and environmental training programs, and facilitate training sessions on NEBOSH/IOSH principles and best practice

* Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards

* Ensure regular safety, environmental and quality audits and inspections are carried out to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, qualifications, and standards

* Keep up to date with changes in health and safety and environmental regulations

* Lead and manage all ISO audits, ensuring that ISO accreditations for safety, environmental and quality system, remain compliant

* Complete IED/EPR compliance audits.

* Arrange environmental testing and liaise with environmental regulators to submit accurate and timely reports

* Oversee waste management: handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, and implementation of waste reduction and recycling initiatives to minimize environmental impact

* Monthly reporting, including tracking performance against KPIs

* Liaising with external contractors and regulatory authorities.

The Ideal Candidate :

* Previous experience as a HSEQ Manager in a manufacturing/industrial environment (or similar)

* Recognised Health and Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH

* Recognised Environmental qualification

* Experience with ISO audits and accreditations i.e. ISO 45001, 14001, 9001

* Excellent knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste management practices

* Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysis

* Excellent communication, IT, and report-writing skills – able to influence and negotiate

* Able to work to deadlines and within a budget

* Previous people management experience
