Engineering Manager
Location:
Merthyr Tydfil
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Hours:
39 hours per week
Benefits: 23 days holiday + Bank Holidays | Pension
Vibe Recruit are recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing organisation in the Merthyr Tydfil area who are looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager.
The RoleAs Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing both technical and people leadership across the engineering function.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a small engineering team.
- Managing engineering priorities, workloads and resources.
- Supporting new product introduction and product development activities.
- Working closely with production and other operational departments to resolve technical issues.
- Managing engineering projects from planning through to delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Ensuring appropriate quality standards and procedures are maintained.
- Supporting equipment maintenance, reliability and operational capability.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and performance.
- Providing technical guidance and support across the wider business.
- Communicating engineering priorities, project progress and potential risks to senior management.
- Supporting cross-functional projects and wider business improvement initiatives.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience within an engineering leadership or management position in a manufacturing environment.
- A relevant engineering qualification, ideally within Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline.
- Strong technical knowledge gained within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams.
- Experience managing engineering projects and multiple priorities.
- A strong understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work effectively with production, quality and other operational teams.
- Experience with in electronics or a technically complex manufacturing environment would be particularly advantageous.
