We are delighted to offer a permanent opportunity for a committed, skilled and motivated individual to undertake the role of Clinical Coordinator within the CAS.

This newly created role offers the chance to step into a key performance management position. The post is ideal for an existing Senior Clinical Advisor who wishes to undertake a more senior role and who is seeking to dynamically make a difference to our performance.

The role has been developed to enable a focused overview on the ambulance disposition workload to ensure clinical validations are maximised through the navigation of appropriate cases.

This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to develop their clinical and leadership skills at a more enhanced level.

This role includes participation in a rota covering evenings and weekends over the 24-hour period.

The Clinical Coordinator will have overall responsibility for the clinicians undertaking validation and will be accountable for the key performance indicators on a shift basis. As such the role is key to the achievement of both our Ambulance Response Programme (ARP) standards and the Hear & Treat target.

The Clinical Coordinator will contribute to the creation of a clinically focused EOC and an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish. You will support EOC staff to practice safely and effectively to meet the standards required.

As the post is new, this provides an opportunity to shape, develop and embed the Clinical Coordinator role within the CAS.

Many people think the job of the ambulance service is to collect patients and take them to hospital, but we do much more!

Paramedic skills have developed hugely in recent years, meaning we carry out more treatment at the scene and en-route to hospital.

We have a dedicated clinical assessment service that allows us to provide patients with the most appropriate care from the beginning of the patient journey.

We have a specialised branch of the Trust called HART which deal with explosions or terrorist attacks.

From 01/04/25 If your role needs a DBS you'll be subject to salary deduction totaling £49.50, spread over first and second pay.

• Higher education qualification e.g. Degree / Diploma in Paramedic / Nursing Practice or possessing work experience demonstrating graduate level ability.
• HCPC Registered Paramedic (minimum of 2-3 years post registration, must have completed NQP consolidation and autonomous clinical practice or equivalent). OR Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register (minimum of 2 years registration and autonomous clinical practice or equivalent)
• Has completed the graduate diploma (level 7 in enhanced practice)

• Experience of working in an Emergency Operations Centre as a clinician undertaking remote assessment.
• In depth knowledge, use and training in remote triage systems (for example MTS).
• Knowledge and experience of managing and leading a team.

• Excellent clinical knowledge.
