The Medicines Management Directorate has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed registered Bank Pharmacy Technician. Our Band 5 Technicians are valued members of the multidisciplinary team at ward level and work as ACTs in the automated, Technician led dispensary. You will gain experience across a variety of clinical specialities, working closely with pharmacists and other health care professionals to deliver a high quality, patient focussed medicines management service.

Responsibilities
  • Work as an Accredited Checking and Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician.
  • Dispense and issue prescriptions both in the department and at ward level.
  • Participate in the ward based medicines management service, undertaking accurate drug histories, assessing patient medication for suitability to use, organising supplies for patient use when in hospital and at discharge and providing advice and counselling to patients (if not accredited you will be expected to undertake the all Wales qualification to allow you to undertake this aspect of the role).

Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa unless they already hold permission to work via another route. Prospective applicants should self‐assess their eligibility for sponsorship by visiting the UK Government's Work in the UK guidance.
