I am a 78 year old gentleman living in Crynant. Although I live independently in an older person’s flat, I find certain tasks difficult and have some support from my sister and brother-in-law who live a few miles away.

I have recently had some difficulties with my mental health and in order to fully recover I need to keep busy and try to make friends. I would like a Personal Assistant to help me to do this.

I like going to my local chapel and community centre and going out and about, for meals or snacks in cafés. I go out on the bus on my own but would like to have someone to keep me company, and to take me on short car trips, as I cannot drive. I would also like my PA to help me with shopping sometimes.

I am hoping to get a computer and would be pleased if my PA could help me improve my computer skills.

• Support me to access the community, including using the bus
• Support with shopping on occasion
• Help me improve my IT skills
• Help me to remain independent in my home by supporting me with light domestic tasks
• Support me to collect my medication each week

• Is very understanding and has a good knowledge of mental health issues.
• Someone discrete and who will respect my confidentiality.
• Someone respectful who will help me to be independent.
• Is trustworthy, reliable and punctual.
• Car driver essential.

3 or 4 Hours to be worked on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
