As a Cyberspace Communications Specialist
, you will sit at the very centre of a nationally critical communications operation. You will help build, maintain, secure, and defend the digital and telecommunications infrastructure that enables aviation, defence, command, and global operations to function safely and reliably.
This is a highly technical, hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You will work with advanced tools, real‑world systems, and cutting‑edge technology, not simulations.
The roleIn this apprenticeship‑based role, you will be trained to:
- Establish, maintain and protect secure IT and telecommunications networks
- Defend systems against intrusion, disruption, and unauthorised access
- Coordinate complex information flows across large operational environments
- Deploy communications infrastructure in overseas and remote locations
- Support command, control, and air traffic services through secure digital systems
- Diagnose, repair, and optimise live communications platforms
You will operate across both UK‑based and deployed environments, gaining exposure to real operational systems that demand absolute reliability.

You will complete a Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship
, gaining nationally recognised qualifications while earning a full salary.

On completion of technical training, your salary will increase to £27,200 + benefits
