The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Email Marketing Manager to own the operational and technical side of Cleo’s CRM ecosystem. You’ll be the go‑to person for making sure every email, trigger, and automation runs smoothly and efficiently.
This is a hands‑on role at the intersection of marketing, engineering, and data — perfect for someone who loves problem‑solving, clean systems, and getting into the technical detail behind a great customer journey.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and optimise – Diagnose issues with triggers, segmentation logic, and email delivery. Understand why users are or aren’t receiving messages and fix it fast.
- Manage transactional and triggered emails – Take ownership of our API‑driven email setup to ensure reliability, visibility, and scalability.
- Keep our data healthy – Maintain data hygiene, ensure list integrity, manage suppression and bounce logic, and keep our CRM in top shape.
- Collaborate across teams – Work closely with CRM marketers, data engineers, and product managers to help build efficient, accurate customer journeys.
- Shape the future stack – Help define and evolve Cleo’s long‑term CRM and martech infrastructure. Identify and implement the right tools, integrations, and automations.
- Ensure compliance and deliverability – Own best practices for email deliverability, authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), and privacy standards (GDPR, PECR).
- You’re technically fluent in email operations and automation platforms (Customer.
IO, Braze, Iterable, or similar). - You can read and write basic API calls, and you’re comfortable working with JSON, SQL, and webhook configurations.
- You understand data structures, event triggers, and segmentation logic at a granular level.
- You love diving into problems, diagnosing weird behaviour, and building reliable, scalable solutions.
- You’re collaborative, detail‑oriented, and care about improving the user experience through precision and quality.
