Outdoor Activities Instructor at Parkwood Leisure
Annualised / Fixed term. Pay scale depends on qualifications, experience and age: £20,880 - £25,500.

Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer is a multi‑activity centre located in the Brecon Beacons National Park. We provide fun, educational and high‑quality services to families and school groups, and maintain an excellent health and safety record.
Responsibilities- Assist the team in day‑to‑day operations of Dolygaer programmes.
- Deliver various outdoor activities to customers and guests as dictated by the programme.
- Liaise with school staff to promote and develop good working relationships.
- Ensure health and safety and best practice guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- Fulfil general centre duties as requested by management.
- Complete evening sessions at least once a week, more during peak season.
- Transport customers to and from activities using our minibuses and smaller vehicles.
- Attend training and courses to enhance the experience for children and young people, linking activities to education and social learning.
- Provide on‑call and emergency duties if deemed necessary.
- Assist with cleaning of the centre, including showers, toilets, classrooms, buses and any other requested areas.
- Prepare lesson equipment for sessions.
- Return all equipment to stores, ensuring cleaning where required.
- Perform any additional tasks requested by the Activity Manager.
- Promote team‑work and support between sessions.
- Help create a centre culture that attracts the best people in the industry.
- Follow clocking‑in and clocking‑out procedures daily.
- Encourage and support the progression of junior staff.
- Maintain continuing professional development and keep qualifications current, including membership fees.
- Multiple recognised qualifications across different outdoor disciplines.
- Experience working with school children and ability to adapt to a varied client base.
- Clear planning and time‑management skills.
- Strong relationship‑building with customers, clients and employees.
- Commitment to good employee culture and delivery of quality activities.
- Proactive commitment to a health and safety culture.
- Valid driving licence, ideally with D1 endorsement.
- Ability to work irregular and unsocial hours including evenings, weekends and bank/public holidays.
