Test & Validation Technician
£37,000 - £40,000
Yolk Recruitment is supporting a specialist engineering and manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Test & Validation Technician to join its production team. This is a hands-on opportunity for a Test Technician, Validation Technician or experienced engineering technician with a background in system testing, fault finding and inspection, working across mechanical, electrical and integrated systems to ensure products meet required standards before delivery.
The Role
As a Test & Validation Technician, you will be responsible for testing, inspecting and verifying assembled units against engineering specifications, quality standards and customer requirements.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you will carry out system-level testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), inspections and diagnostics, while maintaining accurate test records and supporting the resolution of any issues identified.
The role is hands-on and production-focused, with the opportunity to develop your technical skills across a range of testing and validation activities.
Key responsibilities:
Support test planning and readiness in line with production schedules and project milestones.
Review and contribute to test plans, procedures and work instructions.
Carry out in-process, system-level and final acceptance testing (FAT) on assembled units.
Conduct mechanical, electrical and integrated system testing.
Perform product inspections, fault finding and diagnostics, clearly reporting any issues identified.
Identify, raise and support the resolution of non-conformances (NCRs).
Ensure products meet defined quality gates before progression or delivery.
Maintain accurate test records, reports, certification packs and traceability documentation.
Communicate test progress, issues and results to relevant stakeholders.
Maintain and calibrate test equipment and instrumentation as required.
Support shift-based working where required, including day/night rotation.
This is what you'll need:
Experience in a manufacturing, production or testing environment.
Hands-on experience testing mechanical, electrical or integrated systems.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), test equipment and analysing test results.
Good understanding of quality control, NCRs and root cause analysis, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
