You will undertake statutory social work responsibilities focused on children and families involved in care proceedings and pre-proceedings
, working in line with the Children Act 1989

Represent Powys County Council in Family Court, providing professional evidence and recommendations.

Work closely with legal services, Cafcass, guardians, and external professionals
.

Complete comprehensive assessments identifying risk, strengths, and protective factors.

Develop, implement, and review care plans that promote children’s safety, stability, and wellbeing.

Manage complex and high-risk caseloads while maintaining accurate and timely case records.

Undertake child protection enquiries in line with legislation and local policy.

Engage effectively with children, parents, and carers, ensuring the child’s voice remains central to practice.

Collaborate with health, police, education, and other partner agencies.

Participate in supervision, training, and service development activities.

Support students or less experienced colleagues where required.
