Summary

One full-time Scheme Support Officer in a Supported Accommodation Scheme in Merthyr Tydfil. You will be required to work days, evenings, nights & bank holidays on a rolling rota.

About

The Role

This is a Scheme Support Officer role based in our 10-bed Supported Accommodation Service, Garth Villas, Merthyr Tydfil. Alongside the Service Manager we have a team of Project Workers & Scheme Support Officers, with the service being crucial within the community to tackle homelessness.

Working alongside the Project Workers, you will provide support to individuals who are homeless with a range of different behaviours & personalities. The customers may be facing various needs such as – Alcohol/substance misuse, mental health, anti-social behaviour and offending. The service gives customers an opportunity to engage in support, and gain independence in preparation to manage & sustain a future tenancy.

Skills

And Experience Needed

Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.

More important are:

  • A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
  • An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
  • A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
  • Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
